The Gleason Children
Our Mission
Kaylei
In 2001, our daughter, Kaylei, was born with a rare kidney disease. She was ill and hospitalized on three different occasions in the first year of her life. At age two we were still giving Kaylei three liquid sodium shots a day. We spent the first two years at University Hospital. Then, about a month later, the symptoms disappeared.
Braeden
In 2003, our son, Breaden, had his soft spot closed. He also had a misshapen anterior fontanel and calcium disorder. He was supposed to be in the hospital for fourteen days and was out on the morning of the eighth day! He really is a hard worker, and today he is such a wonderful little boy. The doctors recently said he won't need any more childhood surgery.
Mission Statement:
Serving Cayuga County and the surrounding area. Setting up healthy events for the community in which we serve. We help fight child obesity, bring child friendly events and help local charities through our events.

Group Motto:
We make change in our communities in which we live. Whether we run for a cause, design a 5k run for charity..we are in this fight together! We make a better tomorrow through our actions today!
Founder
Vin Gleason Jr. founded the R4L in 2007 as an informational website to help families with sick children gain needed resources.
Today the group has grown from a small site to a national 501 (c) 3 charity located in central New York. Gleason has created or assisted on over 80+ events since 07!

We now offer other charities and schools full service timing for running events. We use an Ultrak system with tearoffs, and laser scanning if needed. We do not do chip timing but we can give you an inexpensive alternative and help you save!
We also time dual meets and invitationals!

Founder Part II Meet the Founder- Vin Gleason
"People underestimate their capacity for change.

Vin Gleason was born on November 21, 1974, has dedicated the last ten years of his life to the underman. Vin is the founder of three marathons for childrens hospitals, hundreds of local running events, including the Majorpalooza 5k in 2009. He founded TheRun4Life, in February, 2007, and received incorporation status in February, 2010. Gleason has created and assisted on over 80+ events since 2007 and says daily that everyone should, "Dream, Believe, and Achieve!" TheRun4Life is now an official 501 (c) 3 registered charity in NY State.
Vin holds an AAS degree in Liberal Arts and Business from Cayuga Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Empire State College, and is a graduate of Marylhursts Advanced MBA program for Non-profit Management. Graduated August 2011.
Although Vin says, Im not the fastest, I try to bring the most heart. Vin is a 2007 bronze and silver medalist of the Washington DC Presidential Fitness Award. He is also a 2008 gold medalist recipient of the same award. He is also the creator of many events such as Mommy N Me, Trick R Trot, Daddys Day Dash, Run 4 Remembrance, Spirit of Christmas Run/Walk for food pantries and Co-Founder of the newest Lake Effect 1/2 Marathon. http://www.lakeeffecthalfmarathon.com

It is the policy at TheRun4Life Inc. that our organization does not discriminate in its leadership, staffing, or service on the basis of age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, political affiliation, or religious belief.
This also applies to all dealings with TheRun4Life Inc. board of directors and choice of future directors.
Minor Policy - Children Under 13:
Safety of children is #1 at TheRun4Life.org. We will not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to provide us any personally identifying information. Children should always get permission from their parents before sending any information about his or herself. (Such as their names, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers) over the Internet, to us or to anyone else. We encourage you to become involved in your children's online experience, and to share your interest in our sites with your young ones. This is the same at our events. Safety first but note that you are are responsible as guardian fo your children at each event that takes place and need to sign a waiver.
Information Sharing Policy:
We do not share any information with any 3rd parties. We will not contact any third parties using your information. Any information that you send stays on the site and is shared at your approval. Posts may also be removed at anytime with our disgression. Any blatant attempts to be malicious will result in the I.P. Address being logged and sent to the proper authorities. The only site we use to collect information is on Active.com and that is done so at the use and cost of each participant. Active.com is the only third party software we use for registration. We use paypal for 3rd party fundraising as well. If you receive something out of the ordinary, please let us know.
Data Security Policy:
All Data is stored on the Wix.com servers. The new online store is 100% safe. Any charges out of the ordinary need to contact us and we will contact the service provider. Therun4life i not responsible for any lost or stolen credit cards that may be used to purchase merchandise or services.
